Jim Spohrer is a retired industry executive who co-founded the IBM Research - Service Research area, and co-led IBM's SSME (Service Science, Management, Engineering) university-industry partnerships.

He co-founded the International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP). He received the Christopher Lovelock Career Contributions to the Service Discipline award, Gummesson Service Research award, Vargo and Lusch Service-Dominant Logic award, Daniel Berg Service Systems award, and a PICMET Fellow for advancing service science.

 

He is a UIDP Senior Fellow for contributions to university-industry collaborations, and on the Board of Directors of ISSIP and ServCollab.
